Key Principles

Simple, fair rules that keep CRN credible and donor-focused.

Integrity

Use funds responsibly

CRN uses donations for lawful advocacy, civic education, community mobilisation, safeguarding, and core operations that enable impact.

Transparency

Report clearly

CRN publishes high-level funding categories, spending controls, and reporting cadence under Financial Transparency.

Do-no-harm

Safeguarding first

Donor-funded activities must respect safeguarding, privacy, and consent rules—especially for vulnerable communities.

Gift Acceptance

What CRN can accept, and when CRN may decline a donation.

Accepted gifts (typical)

CRN may accept individual donations, monthly giving, diaspora fundraising proceeds, and grants aligned with CRN’s mission, legality, and ethics.

Donations we may decline

CRN may refuse donations that create legal risk, conflict of interest, reputational harm, or conditions that compromise independence, safeguarding, or mission integrity.

Restricted Funds

Rules for donations earmarked for specific projects or purposes.

How restricted gifts work

Restricted gifts are accepted when CRN can deliver the stated purpose legally and safely. CRN tracks restricted funds separately where feasible.

If a restricted purpose cannot be delivered

CRN will contact the donor where possible to agree an alternative use aligned with the mission, or apply a refund where appropriate under this policy.

Receipts & Refunds

Clear expectations for donors and supporters.

Receipts

CRN provides receipts where possible. Donors should retain receipts for their personal records.

Refunds

Refunds may be considered for duplicate transactions, processing errors, or other legitimate issues where feasible and lawful.

Processing timeline

Refund review timelines depend on payment provider rules and internal verification steps. CRN will communicate outcomes where possible.
